ICYMI: ALICE Champions Policy Conversation

On January 24, 2023, Rev. Shantell Hinton Hill, senior equity officer with the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, kicked off the ALICE Champions Policy conversation at the ASU systems building in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

WINTHROP ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION FORMS PARTNERSHIP TO IMPACT THE PULASKI COUNTY FOSTER SYSTEM

Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has forged a partnership with Arkansas’ Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and Public Knowledge to disrupt the pipeline into the child welfare system in Pulaski County. The partnership will provide funds to select community-based entities to offer various supports, preventive services, and alternative resources to help strengthen and preserve families.

CLOSE TO $6.5 MILLION IN GRANTS AND PROGRAM RELATED INVESTING IN 2022 

Our latest grants prioritize advocacy and movement building for ALICE workers and families, operating support to nonprofits who challenge systems to effectively serve all Arkansans, and increasing access to capital to business owners less likely to have access to conventional support from private banks.

CLOSE TO $5 MILLION INVESTED TOWARD FUNDING CHANGE 

We’re continuing the pathway to an equitable Arkansas, investing close to $5 million to positively impact Arkansans so far in 2022. The pathway to an equitable Arkansas is paved by hard-working advocates and creative problem solvers. At WRF, we fund change and pursue equity because we understand their work is vital to a future Arkansas where hard work, works for all.

The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF) has officially announced the H.E.A.L. Narrative Lab, a $1.08 million capacity-building investment aimed toward helping six nonprofit organizations shift the public conversation about how everyday Arkansans can thrive in the state.
